After receiving a degree in fashion design from the London College of Fashion, Ricarda subsequently worked as a buyer and design consultant for Browns, Josephs and Issey Miyake among others.
Her interest in working with metal stemmed from her fascination with the contrast it provided to the soft fabrics that used to be her stock in trade.
Her sculptures are an abstract take on commonplace things. She believes that sculpture should be dynamic, so uses a combination of movement, light and colour to acheive this. Scale is just as important as design, nothing should be less than knee height.
